Students in this course will better
understand and become familiar with how social characteristics (age, race, class,
gender, sexual orientation) influence an individual?s experience of health, illness,
medical institutions and more in healthcare professions. Our main focus is to
examine social epidemiology and health and illness definitions. Prerequisite:
Sociology 1; at least junior standing and with special permission otherwise.
