You are invited to the Claremont Colleges' 3rd Annual Black Hair Conference sponsored by the Pan African Student Association (PASA). As we celebrate Black History month, this dinner/conference will be a space to start dialogue about the politics of Black hair amongst our Black community. This means all textures, lengths, curl patterns, and styles—from weaves, to relaxers, to natural, to locs. All Black hair is Beautiful!!!
This year’s event will be hosted by Chinasa Okolo (PO ’18), and Jamaal Tolbert (CGU ’15). Come out on March 6th from 6PM-8PM to the Hahn Academic Building, Room 101 on the Pomona College Campus as Black faculty, Black staff, and Black students get together to share their experience with their hair.
Special thanks to the Department of Anthropology at Pomona College, the Public Events Committee, and Pomona Events Committee (PEC). Also, a huge shout out to Praise Iyiewuare (PO '13) for starting this tradition!
Also, dinner will be provided by Buca di Peppo! There will be games and cool samples from our lovely hair co-sponsors. Links will be provided below for more information on these great products.
